Data Science and Engineering in the Real World

An invited talk for students in the Master’s of Public Health Data Science program at the University of Lancaster, UK. This talk shared my journey from research to applied data science, highlighting how data engineering supports both public health and One Health initiatives. I discussed projects ranging from my contributions to the Global Burden of Animal Diseases initiative to developing automated data systems at Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health, and provided reflections on lessons learned about collaboration, balance, and communication along the way.
